HALFEST ASEAN is an integrated trade and consumer expo for Halal products and services. HALFEST ASEAN serves as a platform for Halal entrepreneurs specifically from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises industry to promote their Halal products and services whilst strengthening their trade relations within the retail industry in Malaysia and the ASEAN region. HALFEST ASEAN encompasses many trade activities to address the needs of the Halal entrepreneurs in exporting across Malaysia and the ASEAN region as well as activities for the whole family such exciting competitions, product launches and demonstrations.

HALFEST is scheduled to take place from 23^rd–27^th August 2017 at the MINES Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC), Kuala Lumpur.

HALFEST is open to the public from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm.

Absolutely, children of all ages are allowed at HALFEST ASEAN. There will be many interesting and exciting activities planned to keep the little ones entertained.

No, entry is free for all. However, visitors will be required to register to enter the expo. Please register online to avoid the long queues.

To increase the demand for halal certified products and services by creating more awareness and educating the public of the benefits of choosing products and services with the halal logo and embracing the halal lifestyle.

To increase the awareness amongst local manufacturers and producers of the importance of halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the State Department of Islamic Religion (JAIN) to strengthen the positioning and marketing of their halal products and services amongst Muslim and general consumers.

To provide a branding and promotion platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to position and promote their halal products and services around Malaysia and to mentor the SMEs to expand to international markets.

More than 500 companies are expected to participate in HALFEST with around 550 allocated exhibition space.

HALFEST ASEAN is open to all companies-small, medium and large enterprises as well as multinationals with Halal certified products and services from JAKIM and JAIN. International companies with Halal certification from their country of origin are also welcomed to join HALFEST ASEAN.

The sectors featured at HALFEST ASEAN include Halal certified food & beverages, Halal certified pharmaceuticals, Halal certified cosmetics & personal care, Islamic fashion & publishing, Islamic investment, banking & takaful, machinery & equipment, Halal certified premises, and government entrepreneurial development agencies & associates.

Around 100,000 visitors are expected at HALFEST ASEAN based on our Advertisement and Promotion (A&P) campaign around Malaysia and the ASEAN region.

The Halal Industry Development Corporation Malaysia (HDC), a government agency tasked to spearhead the halal industry development of Malaysia has been successfully organising the HALFEST ASEAN annually since 2011. In HDCs quest to become a respected Global Halal Hub, we have to develop our micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in Halal sector so that they will be able to export and grow.

HDC has been tasked with this and HALFEST ASEAN is the strategic tool to assist micro, small and medium size entrepreneurs in the Halal sector to promote and market their product and services throughout Malaysia before embarking on export market especially the ASEAN region taking advantage of ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA) and ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) initiatives.

Yes, HALFEST ASEAN is hosted by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI), organised by the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), with the strategic collaboration of Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), supported by and the Malaysia Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM), Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM), Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) as well as co-organised and managed by SHAPERS Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
